He extensively studied the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and used an American model from Philadelphia, Anna Willess Williams, as his inspiration for the obverse of the coin. Struck from a 90% silver composition, the Morgan Silver Dollar boasts a captivating profile of Lady Liberty facing left, with the word “LIBERTY” in the headband. The reverse of the coin features the iconic American Bald Eagle with wings outstretched, clutching a branch and several arrows in its talons and surrounded by a small wreath.
