Why purchase this perfectly graded First Day of Issue 100th Anniversary 2021 Silver Morgan and Peace Dollar 2-piece Philadelphia Mint set?

In 2021, to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the last Morgan Dollar release and the introduction of the Peace Dollar series in 1921, the U.S. Mint has issued a series of celebratory silver dollars featuring the original imagery of each coin. This specially paired set of 2021 dated coins were struck at the Philadelphia Mint. As the inaugural Mint for both the Morgan Dollar and the Peace Dollar, the Philadelphia Mint is considered to be the "mother Mint" of each series.

  • This set features one 2021 Morgan Dollar and one 2021-(P) Peace Dollar.
  • Each coin is a product of the Philadelphia Mint, as confirmed by the lack of a Mint mark.
  • The coins are struck from 26.686 grams of .999 fine silver, an increase from the .900 purity of both original series.
  • Each coin measures 38.10 mm diameter.
  • Each flawless silver dollar in the set earned the First Day of Issue attribution.
  • A specially designed commemorative 100th Anniversary certification label is included with each coin.
  • A product limit was set of 175,000 for the Morgan Dollar and 200,000 for the Peace Dollar.
  • The entire product limit of each coin is sold out at the Mint!

Exciting Historic Silver Dollar Designs

Morgan Dollar: The obverse of the Morgan Dollar features Lady Liberty as a young woman wearing a Phrygian cap ornamented with sprigs of cotton, wheat and oak. An eagle is illustrated on the reverse clutching an olive branch and a bundle of arrows. The powerful patriotic image is credited to the U.S. Mint's seventh Chief Engraver, George T. Morgan.

Peace Dollar: The design of the Peace Dollar is the work of notable Italian-American sculptor Anthony de Francisci, who based the obverse likeness of Lady Liberty wearing a radiate style crown on the image of his own wife, Teresa Cafarelli. On the reverse, an eagle is depicted perched on the peak of a mountain, gazing towards the sunrise, with "PEACE" inscribed below.
