In honor of the 60th Anniversary of the establishment of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, the U.S. Mint has issued a series of fantastic dome-shaped coins in 2020. This bullion silver dollar from the series measures 38.1 mm in diameter, struck from 0.8594 Troy oz. of .999 fine silver at the Philadelphia Mint.

Exciting Designs Enhanced by the Coin's Curved Surfaces

The concave obverse features a game in progress, as three players reach for control of the basketball. The design by Justin Kunz and Michael Gaudioso includes the inscriptions "LIBERTY," "2020," "P" and "IN GOD WE TRUST."

Designed by Donna Weaver and Phebe Hemphill, a finely detailed basketball is depicted on the domed reverse, as it starts to pass through the net. Inscribed "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and "ONE DOLLAR."
