Why purchase this flawless First Day of Issue U.S. Mint 100th Anniversary 2021 Silver Morgan and Peace Dollar 6-coin set?

This extraordinary set of coins from the U.S. Mint commemorates the last Morgan Dollar and the first Peace Dollar, both of which were issued one hundred years ago, in 1921. The Morgan Dollar, issued from 1878 until 1921, featured imagery celebrating a period of prosperity following the American Civil War recovery era. The Peace Dollar, issued from 1921 until 1935, carried the themes of peace and hope in the aftermath of World War I, and was the last circulating dollar coin series struck from silver to be released by the Mint.

  • The set includes six 2021 dated silver dollar coins featuring the original 1921 designs.
  • The San Francisco, Philadelphia and Denver Mints crafted the set's five Morgan Dollars.
  • The lone Peace Dollar is a product of the Philadelphia Mint.
  • Each coin measures 38.10 mm diameter, struck from 26.686 grams of .999 fine silver, an increase from the .900 purity of both original series.
  • Each coin in the set is an authenticated First Day of Issue release.
  • The silver dollars each include a commemorative 100th Anniversary certification label.
  • The Peace Dollar product limit is 200,000 coins, while the product limit of each distinct Morgan Dollar release is limited to 175,000.

Magnificently Detailed Historic Silver Dollar Designs

Morgan Dollar: The obverse of the Morgan Dollar is graced with a female personification of Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap as a symbol for the pursuit of freedom, embellished with an agricultural garland to demonstrate the nation's growth. The reverse illustrates an eagle with an olive branch and arrows in its grip, and a laurel wreath curving below. Seventh U.S. Mint Chief Engraver George T. Morgan is credited with the powerful imagery. The reverse of each Morgan Dollar contains its distinguishing Mint mark: San Francisco's "S," Denver's "D," and the typical lack of a Mint mark which signifies the Philadelphia Mint. The two additional Philadelphia minted coins replicate the releases of the retired Mints of Carson City and New Orleans, featuring "CC" and "O" privy marks.

Peace Dollar: The obverse depiction of Lady Liberty as a young woman wearing a radiate tiara is based upon the image of Teresa Cafarelli, the wife of the Peace Dollar's designer, notable Italian-American sculptor Anthony de Francisci. On the reverse, an eagle is portrayed standing on a mountain peak adorned with the word "PEACE," with its gaze focused on the rays of the sun beyond.
