Why buy this 2020 ¥10 China 30 g Silver Panda?
The Chinese Silver Panda was first issued as a proof in 1983. In 1989, the China Mint began issuing the silver coin as an annual bullion issue. The series had mintages in the six figures for several years, and just 50,000 pieces were struck in 1997. The series, with its one year only designs, has exploded in popularity over the past decade, thanks in part due to the novelty of it being struck in metric units rather than imperial ones. This edition was struck from 30 g of .999 fine silver. This coin will arrive in GEM Brilliant Uncirculated condition.
Adorable Baby Panda Design by Song Lina
While the reverse design changes every year, the obverse design remains a constant. The Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests, which is located in Beijing's Temple of Heaven, stands at the center. The tiered circular building has steps leading up to it and is a stunning example of traditional Chinese architecture. The edifice is encircled by a rim frame. At the top is the name of the issuing country in Chinese characters, while at the bottom is the date, "2020."
The reverse features a touching image of a baby panda enjoying its favorite meal, bamboo leaves. The young one is seated facing the holder. The coin's face value is inscribed to the left, while its weight and purity, "30 G AG 999," is inscribed a long the rim in the upper right.
