Why order this 2018-P $1 Australian 1 oz. Silver Wedge-Tailed Eagle?
This $1 Australian 2018-P 1 oz. Silver Wedge-Tailed Eagle is part of the fifth edition of this groundbreaking series. Debuting in 2014, the series started the partnership of former U.S. Mint Chief Engraver John Mercanti and the Perth Mint, the first ever such partnership between a former U.S. Mint Chief Engraver and a foreign mint. The coin was struck from .9999 fine silver and bears the mint's iconic "P" Mint mark. Unlike previous editions in this series, this coin's reverse design will be used only for one year, not two.
New Eagle Family Design by John Mercanti
On the obverse of this coin is Ian Rank-Broadley's right-side effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. The image has long been a fixture on Australian coins and shows the monarch wearing earrings and a necklace. Rim inscriptions include "ELIZABETH II," the coin's face value, and "AUSTRALIA."
John Mercanti's reverse design features a family of wedge-tailed eagles. It is the first design in the series to feature multiple birds. In the foreground, a mother eagle leans over toward her nestling. Above, the male is shown with his wings spread returning to his nest. "AUSTRALIAN WEDGE-TAILED EAGLE" is inscribed along the rim, as is "2018 1 OZ 9999 SILVER."
Don't miss your chance to own this 1 oz. Silver 2018-P $1 Australian Wedge-Tailed Eagle.
