Beautiful Commemorative Design
Obverse: On the obverse, the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II" and "D. G. REGINA" surround the right facing image of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The effigy was created by award-winning Canadian portrait artist Susanna Blunt in 2003.
Reverse: A "V" for victory dominates the reverse, nestled within a vast field of gorgeously colorized poppies, with the sun breaking through a cloudy sky to symbolize the hope for a brighter future. The image is surrounded by the inscriptions "CANADA" and "5 DOLLARS 2020." The design is credited to Trevor Tennant, a Canadian wildlife and landscape artist who has created more than fifty coins for the RCM.
